About the course

Construction brokers must understand more than property coverage—they must recognize how contract bonds, inland marine floaters, and completed operations liability work together throughout the life of a project. This course examines the fundamentals of contract surety, including the three-party relationship, contractor prequalification, and the distinction between surety and insurance. It also explores Builders Risk and Tool & Installation Floaters, focusing on property protection during construction, coverage attachment and cessation, warranties, and documentation requirements. Finally, you'll examine completed operations exposure, learning how liability can continue long after work is finished, how completion triggers affect coverage, and why continuous CGL protection is essential. By the end of this course, you'll be better prepared to identify contractor exposures, recommend appropriate coverage solutions, and help clients avoid costly gaps in protection from project start through long-term liability.
