About the course

Farm insurance requires a complete view of the agricultural operation—not just the farmhouse. This course provides Canadian P&C brokers with a practical review of three core exposure areas: farm outbuildings, machinery, and liability. Participants will examine how barns, sheds, grain bins, quonsets, specialty structures, and other outbuildings should be identified, valued, and insured using appropriate scheduled or blanket limits. The course also reviews farm machinery exposures, including insurance to value, replacement cost versus actual cash value, coinsurance, upset and overturn, ingestion exclusions, custom farming, off-premises use, and loss-of-use needs during critical planting and harvest periods. The liability component explores premises, operations, products, employees, volunteers, livestock, agri-tourism, pollution, off-road vehicles, and custom work. Designed for brokers serving agricultural clients, this course strengthens the ability to uncover hidden exposures, document changing farm operations, and align property and liability coverage with the realities of a modern farming business.
