About the course

Ocean Marine insurance extends far beyond protecting a vessel. This course provides a practical overview of the three core pillars of marine insurance: Hull, Protection & Indemnity (P&I), and Ocean Cargo. You'll learn how Hull insurance protects the vessel itself, how P&I responds to critical liability exposures involving crew, passengers, pollution, cargo, and wreck removal, and how Ocean Cargo policies protect goods throughout the international transportation chain. The course also examines agreed value, marine perils, Institute Cargo Clauses, Incoterms, valuation methods, policy structures, and the broker's responsibility to identify coverage gaps before a loss occurs. By the end of this course, you'll be able to recommend appropriate marine coverages with confidence and better protect clients involved in marine transportation and international trade.
