About the course
This course provides brokers with a practical review of homeowners coverage, property valuation, and liability fundamentals. Participants begin with Homeowners Comprehensive coverage, including all-risk protection, vacancy, water and freezing losses, maintenance exclusions, and earthquake exposures. The course then examines Actual Cash Value, including valuation methods, depreciation, replacement cost, bylaw considerations, and underinsurance. The course concludes with liability fundamentals, including negligence, duty of care, causation, foreseeability, occupiers’ liability, vicarious liability, and defence obligations.
