About the course

A sound commercial insurance program begins with a clear understanding of what is being insured, how the business generates income, and where legal liability can arise. This course examines the foundations of commercial property, business interruption, and Commercial General Liability coverage, providing brokers with the knowledge needed to identify and protect a client's most significant exposures. You'll learn how commercial property is classified into building, stock, and equipment, how Business Interruption coverage responds to lost income following an insured property loss, and how Coverage A of the CGL protects businesses against third-party bodily injury and property damage claims. The course also explores key policy triggers, coverage limitations, restoration periods, contractual obligations, and the broker's role in documenting exposures, establishing appropriate limits, and identifying potential coverage gaps before a loss occurs. By the end of this course, you'll be better equipped to build comprehensive commercial insurance programs that protect both a client's physical assets and long-term financial stability.
