About the course

Construction projects involve far more than completing the work on time—they require careful management of contractual obligations, financial guarantees, and project-wide liability exposures. This course examines contractor risk management, the fundamentals of contract surety, and Wrap Up Liability programs to help brokers understand how these coverages work together on complex construction projects. You'll learn how written contracts, subcontractor management, jobsite safety, equipment controls, and documentation influence underwriting, while exploring the three-party structure of contract bonds, contractor prequalification, General Indemnity Agreements, and the distinction between surety and insurance. The course also examines Owner-Controlled and Contractor-Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIPs and CCIPs), project enrollment requirements, shared liability limits, completed operations, and the coordination between wrap-up liability and individual contractor CGL policies. By the end of this course, you'll be better equipped to advise contractors, project owners, and developers on integrated insurance and bonding strategies that reduce contractual risk, strengthen underwriting submissions, and protect major construction projects from inception through completion.
