About the course

Manufacturing operations present some of the most complex commercial property and liability exposures a broker will encounter. This course examines how chemical storage hazards, pressure vessel explosions (BLEVEs), and manufacturing processes combine to create significant fire, explosion, pollution, property damage, liability, and business interruption risks. You'll learn how chemicals, combustible materials, machinery, pressure vessels, and production systems can affect both on-site operations and neighbouring properties, while exploring the importance of equipment maintenance, fire protection, environmental liability, quality control, emergency response planning, and business continuity. The course also reviews equipment breakdown, contingent business interruption, supply chain dependencies, and the broker's role in identifying high-severity exposures before a loss occurs. By the end of this course, you'll be better equipped to assess manufacturing risks, recommend appropriate insurance solutions, and help clients reduce the financial impact of complex industrial losses.
