About This Course
No-fault automobile insurance operates differently across Western Canada. This course compares the distinct models used in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, giving Canadian P&C brokers a practical understanding of how accident benefits are delivered, how tort rights are restricted or preserved, and where additional coverage may be required. Participants will examine Saskatchewan’s hybrid system and the client’s choice between no-fault and tort coverage, Alberta’s Care First model delivered through private insurers, and British Columbia’s ICBC Enhanced Care framework. The course also addresses income replacement, medical and rehabilitation benefits, impairment and death benefits, liability considerations, extension coverage, and the limited circumstances in which legal action may still be available. Designed for brokers advising personal automobile clients, this course strengthens the ability to explain provincial differences, identify benefit shortfalls, recommend appropriate optional protection, and document client decisions before a loss occurs.
