About the course

Personal insurance continues to evolve as clients acquire unique assets, adopt new transportation options, and seek protection for every member of the family—including their pets. This course examines Ride Share Insurance, Valuables Insurance, and Pet Insurance to help brokers address specialized personal lines exposures that often fall outside standard policy assumptions. You'll learn how rideshare coverage changes during each phase of a trip, how passenger-for-compensation exclusions and platform insurance can create unexpected coverage gaps, and when endorsements or commercial auto coverage may be required. The course also explores the protection of jewellery, coins, stamps, and other valuable collections through scheduled and blanket coverage, emphasizing the importance of appraisals, documentation, agreed values, and policy sublimits. Finally, you'll examine the fundamentals of pet insurance, including accident and illness coverage, pre-existing condition exclusions, waiting periods, deductibles, co-insurance, reimbursement models, and policy limits. By the end of this course, you'll be better equipped to identify specialized personal insurance exposures, explain important coverage limitations, and recommend tailored insurance solutions that provide clients with protection beyond the standard home and auto policy.
